Wesley Spectrum: Drawing/ Painting/ Bookmaking

This is an middle school class that meets every day for 38 minutes. The focus of this class is the exploration of drawing and painting in the context of bookmaking. The learner objectives of this course are:

• Students will be able to explore various materials through painting and drawing
• Students will be able to further develop problem-solving skills through the arts
• Students will be able to identify parts of a book and create their own artist book

Students learned about the art of zentangle  , and the elements of this particular style. As a class, we discussed various types of line and different lines found in nature. Students also learned the steps to creating a zentangle piece, and began to create their own zentanlges.
